Walking is the Best Way to Lose Body Fat

    On September 22, 2008

    by Ricardo d Argence

Walking is wonderful exercise. It is quintessentially human. You do not need to rush the process of walking for weight loss. You can do it indoors on a treadmill or outdoors, whichever you prefer. Here we show you how to do it effectively. A good way to ensure that you are getting a minimum amount of physical activity is simply to take 10,000 steps throughout the day.

It is a fact that what is measurable can be improved than what is not measurable let this fact be used to work for you. Do not rely on memory. Keep a journal while you train, recording the date, how long you exercised and how you felt during and after your session.

You may wish to share your log with you physician, for he or she may be able to provide you with additional input. After you are walking for weight loss regularly for one hour without any residual discomfort, it’s time to add the distance measurement. Measure the length you are going over. Walk a little faster every time you go for a walk until your distance reaches four miles.

It is not necessary to use exercise machines like treadmill or do special workouts. It depends upon how active you usually are. In general walking at least 10,000 steps each day can be done in conjunction with other types of physical exercise.

Of course, if you have been relatively inactive, begin slowly to increase the number of steps you take each day. Don’t rush the process. Just exercise a little bit better each time. Think of it as mastering the art of walking well. Mastery always requires persistent practice of the right kind.

You will discover that 4 miles per hour is a fast pace to maintain. Make sure to seek medical advice as well as following your gut instinct. The ideal minimum amount of walking to produce a good result is four miles three times a week in less than one hour.

If you will be doing an intense fitness and strength training regimen, do no excede 4 mph. If you did this, your chances of overtraining would significantly increase

If you have not been getting regular fitness exercise, you’ll quickly realize that you are getting more from your walks than less body fat. You’ll begin feeling much better!

Uncovering the Six Biggest Myths About Weight Loss

    On September 07, 2008
    Categories: Weight Loss
    by Ricardo d Argence

There is plenty of inaccurate data going around the weight loss industry and many people who are getting on this platform and looking for ways to lose weight have fallen victim to such myths. Let us look at some of the most popular myths circulating on this industry.

Myth #1: Forget about carbohydrates. The Atkins, South beach, and many others that say you must keep carbohydrates low and proteins high, perpetuate this. These type of yo-yo diets are usually quick to get results, but as soon as you go back to your regular routine, the weight returns,at times, even worse than before.

Myth # 2: Genetics is the biggest factor. To a certain extent, genetics do play a role ion determining your metabolic rate, but this doesn’t meant hat your fate is sealed if you have obese parents and grandparents. The most important factor in determining your success in any weight loss program is the number of calories you eat and the amount of physical activity you get in a single day. Genetics do play a role in determining how much calories you will burn, as those with slower metabolic rates may burn calories much slower than those who are active and have higher metabolic rates. But there are always ways you can rev up a slow metabolism so don’t ever use this excuse.

Myth # 3: Fat is to be avoided. Some people believe that cutting down on fat is necessary during a weight loss program. But the key to effective fat control is cutting down on the dangerous fats and increasing your intake of the good fat. At all costs, do avoid Trans fat and saturated fat and increase the intake of healthy fats such as polyunsaturated and Omega-3 that are abundant in foods like fish, olive oil, and avocados.

Myth # 4: Skipping meals. Foregoing the meals can actually be counter-productive because your metabolism is reduced, making it harder to lose weight. Eating regular meals is important. For it to be beneficial to you, salads, vegetables, nuts, and fruits need to be consumed by you. Substitute a good-sized piece of watermelon when you are craving a serving of ice-cream.

Myth # 5: Avoid white food. Contrary to popular beliefs, there are many “white” foods which may be good for you- pears, avocadoes, nuts-just to name a few and the key is that what counts is the nutrients contained on those foods, and not the color.

Myth # 6: Grapefruit Miracle. This is one myth that has no basis in reality. There is a group of individuals who are promoting grapefruit as a way to lose fat. In fact there is one small isolated research that states that there is a a magic fat-burning enzyme that can help you lose weight simply by consuming this fruit. However the validity of the claims is yet to be questioned and whether the citrus industry did play a role in funding those researches. Grapefruits are rich in lycopene-a good source of ingredients that can help provide nutrient and care for the cellular health-prevents cancer and heart diseases.

So, there you have the top 6 myths of weight loss that you may have been familiar with. Now that you have the knowledge to separate fact from fiction, the path to weight loss and a healthier lifestyle is open wide for you.

How to Lose Weight During the Holiday Season

    by Ricardo d Argence

Those delicious puddings and those crunchy, sweet, absolutely delicious chocolate cookies maybe beckoning you to reach out and grab a handful but if you are on a weight loss program, that is exactly the thing you don’t want to do!

It’s just one cookie, it won’t do any damage…right? Well, did you realize that one little cookie a day for a month can add an extra pound to your weight? During holiday season it can be especially difficult to resist the lure of delicious food and stick to a diet. Here are some handy hints as to how you can manage to maintain your weight loss during these periods.

Never Skip Meals. This is the best formula to get you grouchy, feeling tired and hungry all the time. If you think skipping a few meals can make up for your intentions to splurge on those tasty holiday meals, you are dead wrong! What will be more likely to happen is it will turn you into a voracious eating monster during the festive season and end up feeling bloated and with a lot more calories than you could have do without if you weren’t so hungry.

Before going to the party get something to eat. It is a good idea to snack before the party, and select a high fiber meal. A high fiber diet will fill you up and make it less likely that you will binge on holiday treats.

Keep away from the buffet table, if possible. Try to avoid those tasty looking dishes if you feel like your willpower will be threatened. Choose a healthy helping of those foods you need-the salads the fruits and a snack or two and move away from the table as fast as you can. Have an engaging conversation and you will get your mind off eating.

Consume a lot of water. Water is a great lubricant for your body to keep you hydrated during your weight loss program. In order to avoid hunger pangs, drink plenty of fluids to fill your stomach with liquid instead of food. Water will help rev up your metabolism, and will aid in flushing fats away.

A Good Amount of Exercise. Exercise is very crucial to keeping your metabolism raised up and the adrenalin going so you don’t have to turn to food to feel good. Don’t let the holiday season hold you back from exercising. This is the worst excuse to have for not exercising.

    Staying Updated With Blogs

    On September 02, 2008
    Categories: Ezines and Newsletters
    by Ricardo d Argence

Now that most people have the internet, the local news doesn’t do it for them. We would like to see local stories covered in more depth that local TV news can provide. Alternatively, perhaps you enjoy being aware of local events but you despise having to adhere to a time schedule. In order to get information about the new story you have to hear forty minutes of bad reviews that you have viewed previously.

Luckily for us there are blogs available online that keep readers updated on the latest information. You are even able to find all of your favorite television stations broadcasters online. News blogs are great for people who are interested in reading about specific topics because the posts are often categorized by topic. For example recently blogs have erupted on the scene and have taken American political opinion by storm. Blogs and political opinion happen to play a large role in American politics now.

Blogs are not just useful in the political arena. You will also see comments regarding recent events that have been posted by bloggers. Blogs from citizens of Iraq were popular during the American bombing campaign there. In this location the blogs truly let readers known the accurate information based on a witnesses first-hand experience. Big business obviously controls media in the traditiona sense, like televised news broadcasts. Before you receive the content, it has been filtered. I, for one, do not like anyone filtering my news.

You can take advantage of blog RSS feeds to keep updated on the latest events and posts. Google Reader is also a free handy tool that will allow you to keep updated on all of your favorite blogs all in one spot.

When you create a Google account, your favorite news fees can be shown on your home page when you customize it to your taste. This same service is offered by Yahoo. This is probably the most convenient way to get your favorites blogs. Viewers that provide a variety of options to show and filter what you have selected to view can be downloaded and installed on your computer.

If you prefer you can receive your feed by email too. Most blogs offer this kind of service and you will get an update daily (or as often as the author updates it) on your inbox. This is too a good way to stay at the top of the news of the themes that most interest you. Personally this is my favorite way to receive updates, since I always check my email several times during the day.

If the blog you prefer lacks these options, you might ask the author to add them. Many of them will be elated to give their readers this type of service. Most blog software already has these options, so all you need to do is start using them.

Nowadays I prefer blogs over watching the news, simply because I like to get the facts without having to wait through a commercial.

Why Pump And Muscle Gain Are Not The Same Thing

    On August 24, 2008
    Categories: Weight Loss
    by Ricardo d Argence

Picture this scenario: you’ve been working in the gym for half an hour and after a really hard set of your routine on the bench your chest feels tight and engorged with blood. It feels great, healthy, powerful. “Pump”, is how they call that feeling. If you have ever had the feeling, then you know great it feels. Arnold said it’s like having sex (i’m not really sure if it’s good in THAT level, but yes, it’s an amazing feeling).

Let’s face it, a pump feels incredible. For those of you who aren’t quite sure what I’m talking about, a pump is the feeling that you get as blood becomes trapped inside your muscle tissue as a result of resistance training. The muscles will swell up and increase in size, vascularity and tightness.

There is certainly nothing wrong with achieving a pump in the gym, and it is simply a natural result of intense weight training. However, contrary to what the majority of weightlifters may think, a pump is in no way indicative of a successful workout. Anyone who uses the intensity of their pump as a gauge for the effectiveness of their workout is making a costly error.

On countless occasions I’ve heard lifters raving about the massive pumps they get in the gym as they share methods for achieving the best pump possible. “Dude, this will give you a crazy pump!” If you have already been working out for a decent amount of time then you know exactly what I’m talking about. While a pump does feel extremely satisfying, just remember that it means very little in terms of muscle stimulation and growth.

A pump is just the blood flowing to the area. You can get a good pump without working all that hard. Giving your body no reason to grow. But you can get the greatest pump, and it does′nt mean your muscles will grow the most. If muscle pumps meant muscle growth, then super light weight, ultra high rep programs would be the most effective way to grow. And i think you’ll agree with me when i say that will never work. So, how can i know if i’m in the right way? It’s nothing complex.

This is the way it should be: if you keep a record of your workouts and week after week you are increasing the weight you lift, if you can perform some rextra reps, you are in your way to that huge muscles you desire, even if you were far to achieve a pump. Remember that pump blood into your muscle tissue is not the goal.

If you are able to consistently achieve this, your muscle size and strength will increase faster than you ever thought possible, with or without a pump. I hope this article cleared up your confusion on the issue of “muscle pumps″.

Tips to Design Your Own Website

    On August 23, 2008

    by Ricardo d Argence

It is understandable to hesitate before venturing into webdesign, whatever your motivations are. Isn′t this what they pay folks the big bucks for? While that is true, this doesn′t mean that you will come up short when it comes to a website. Think of website design as singing. There’s a small amount of people who excel at the occupation, a lot more who earn some money doing it, and many who just do it for their own reasons. It is fairly easy to become proficient enough to make your own website.

Initially you need to focus on getting a host and a domain name of your own. This will enable your site to remain on the servers. You′ll find that these hosts are fairly inexpensive and that they will also likely provide you with some basic website templates to work with. These can be suitable for everyday use but it is possible that you will need more than they can supply. Consider all the things you want your website to accomplish and keep going until you reach your goal.

Prior to hosting an event it is wise to find out which WYSIWYG program would be most beneficial to you. When attempting to design a new website please keep the phrase ‘WYSIWIG’ in mind. This stands for what you see is what you get. Essentially, a WYSIWIG program will allow you to build your webpage up simply by adding features to a page template. This does not require knowledge of coding at all and is straigtforward to the extreme. Programmes can be taught to function instinctively with a minimum of practice.

Some WYSIWIG programs include Adobe GoLive, Dreamweaver and FrontPage, and you′ll find that they are all similarly useful. You′ll be able to type text directly into the page itself, and you′ll find that there are many different things that you can do. A rudimentary knowledge of word processing can do a lot of good to you here, but even that is not vital. In no time at all, you′ll be able to design your pages. Remember to test them as you go, to ensure that you have no dead links or similar problems, but you can do quite a lot just on your own.

After you have the design of your webpage set up, you′ll find that all you have to do is FTP them to your webserver, where they will be accessible to the rest of the internet. Making your webpages this way, you don′t need any knowledge of code, nor do you need to worry about making updates through a difficult interface. Designing webpages has never been easier, so take advantage of programs like this to put your page up!

    The Truth Behind Break-Ups

    On August 21, 2008
    Categories: Marriage
    by Ricardo Daryans

Have you ever thought about that? Why do men get dumped by women? Time and time again you’ll hear a man make the comment that his girlfriend or wife just broke up with him. You were so good to her it almost seemed like you worshiped her, so you’ll have no idea why.

Did you ever hear that line “Nice guys finish last?” Well, there’s a little truth to that statement. Many women aren’t as self assured as they could be and any women who is a little insecure will sometimes wonder why a really great guy would want her. So, if you seem to be head over heals in love with her, she’ll wonder what’s wrong with you.

Are all women that way? Nope, of course not! Many women have the self assurance to know what they want in a man and they′ll expect to be treated well or they′ll get out of the relationship. But many females think that things are always better elsewhere. They would be better off with the person coming in the near future.

So, what do you do when a woman breaks up with you for seemingly no reason at all? The first thing you WON’T do is call her, text her or go visit her. She evidently took you for granted while you were together so let her have some time to miss you.

Try not to act like you’re devastated, but instead get back out in the world. Go out with friends, go on dates if you like. Actually, dating is good because you just might find a woman out there who has the self assurance to appreciate what you offer.

The reality check is deciding whether or not you can handle a relationship full of her insecurities. Think about it? Is she really worth it? You have to give your beloved the the freedom, the space and time to widen her horizons on her own. It is very possible to mend a relationship if the trust is present.

If you have not called lately, you can expect she will likely call you. Be friendly, but aloof. Don’t share much about your life. And don’t ask a lot about hers. And cut the call short. You want to allow her the opportunity to recognize you as her ideal man.

Basically, she’s going to have to earn the right to have you for a boyfriend or lover. Let HER chase you, not the other way around. And if you finally let her catch you, hold a little of yourself back for a while. Remember, she’s not sure what to do if you’re really nice, so don’t give so much.

Am I telling you to treat her inappropriately? No way! Just stay a little more independent of her this time. These are the steps to save your relationship, if that is what you are really looking for.

Poor Ideas for Winning Back Your Ex

    On August 18, 2008
    Categories: Dating
    by Ricardo d Argence

What are the ways I can win back my ex-boyfriend while avoiding common mistakes? What should you do and what should you not do?

This article will describe the less than ideal methods of winning back your boyfriend. You must make yourself aware of these potential pitfalls in order to avoid them.

Don’t let your past failures, which are explained later, discourage and/or stop you from moving foward. You can more than likely do something to fix the situation.

    So, what are those mistakes?

    1) Arguing with your ex boyfriend over the break out.

A man usually gives his girlfriend some lame reasons when he wants to break up with her, this is very normal and the girl will find it unacceptable. Of course, this will usually result in a disagreement.

Maybe the lady can’t accept this. Hence, she would want to make her boyfriend think that it is not a right reason to break up. Sad to say, that most often is not beneficial.

    2) Another behavior you should avoid at all costs is calling your ex repeatedly.

A second very common mistake is to call an ex-boyfriend too frequently. This happens when your boyfriend avoids you and won’t answer the phone when you call him. Because you want so badly to speak with him, you can’t stop yourself from dialing his number, hoping he’ll pick up.

You will also want to try not do this as well. All the things mentioned above indicate that you are desperate, which is why you should steer clear of those behaviors.

You don’t want to seem desperate, if you do your boyfriend will just want to stay away from you. To put yourself in a better position to get your boyfriend back, make sure you do not make the same mistakes.

    Picking Your Hosting Provider

    On August 14, 2008
    Categories: Webmasters
    by Ricardo d Argence

If you are in a position where you want to work or communicate online, you will automatically think about getting a web page, but before that, you need to think about getting a webhost. Essentially, a webhost will provide you with a server that connects to the internet and allows your site to be accessible to web surfers. Because a webhost is the prime determining factor in whether people will be able to reach your site, is imperative that you ensure that the webhosting service you get is a good one.

How can you tell if the webhost that you are looking at will serve you well? The first thing to look at is how well known it is. See how it appears under Google’s ranking system; a good webhost will have a high degree of relevancy and be very popular. Similarly, ask around. If your friends or family have websites, ask them who they use and how reliable they are. In this business, reliability is the preeminent factor that you are looking for. A dedicated webhost will ensure that your site remains up and will have several redundant systems ensuring this fact.

There are a wide variety of webhosts out there, and it is best if you find one that meets your needs. Most basic webhost simply provide you with the ability to upload content to your site via an FTP or web interface. Others work with processing and refining the content a little bit, and still others are specifically meant to help you deal with ecommerce in terms of processing payments and dealing with complaints. Think about what your needs are. Are you simply uploading family pictures to share or are you actively looking to start an online business?

One of the main differences between webhosts are some of them are paid for and some are free. Why would you pay a webhost when you can get such service for free? Because you get the quality you pay for. How fast are your questions answered? How seriously are your complaints taken? Will your site be reliably accessible? Largely with a free host on the web, the many questions go without being answered.

When a service has been paid for, there’s a greater likelihood it will be of superior quality. In reference to webhosting, it is a fact that, generally, you are rewarded with what you pay for.

When posting something online, you should first ponder how it will get online. Check to make sure the host you go with is all about you and it has the ability to satisfy your needs.
