If you do a Google search on all flooring types available today, you will literally find thousands of options. That’s because the choices on floor types are growing every single day. So if you think all these is too much, here are some of the popular options to get you started in the right direction.

Carpeting comes in staggering options. There are wool carpets, nylon, plush and even Berber. It’s best to consult a professional if you′re deciding which carpet to go with. For places that get a lot of foot traffic, you can go with wool because it can withstand a lot. Nylon is great for places which gets a lot of spills and stains like the kitchen. Price ranges are usually from $15 to $30 per yard.

If you′re into sleek designer looks, you can try ceramic tiles. The options for these are also endless. You can have it in all sizes and colors and you can’t go wrong with it. The price for installation varies around $8 and $15 per square foot.

Polished concrete is probably the best option. It gives you a more modern look. It’s as durable as marble but not as expensive. If you′re thinking it’s too hard and cold, contractors can easily have heating tubes put underneath to keep it warm during the cold season.

These are just a few ideas. There are a lot more where that came from and all you have to do is choose. As always, it’s best to consult professionals when you′re choosing as you definitely do not want to make a permanent or expensive mistake.
